Abstract

This article comprehensively analyzes the economic efficiency of electronic payment systems in the activities of small business entities during the digital economy era. The main purpose of the study is to quantitatively substantiate the economic benefits of cashless payments for entrepreneurs and buyers in small business sectors and to develop measures to overcome existing obstacles. The relevance of the topic is that the increase in cashless settlements directly serves to reduce trade costs, increase the speed of service, and accelerate working capital. Economic-statistical methods, comparative analysis, and observation were used as the research methodology. The main results obtained indicate that accepting payments through national applications and point-of-sale terminals in Uzbekistan saves time by 85% and completely eliminates hidden costs. The scientific novelty of the proposed approach lies in the comparative evaluation of the time and transaction savings of electronic payments at the micro level (per single buyer). Its practical significance is explained by specific conclusions and recommendations given for optimizing costs in retail outlets and improving the payment infrastructure.
